Annual Programs

Annual Giving & Regional Programs is Cal’s central annual giving office, charged with the mission of maximizing annual participation and feeding the major gift pipeline through the solicitation of Cal’s 420,000+ alumni, 33,000+ parents and students. Annual Giving & Regional Programs is also charged with raising annual, unrestricted gifts for the Chancellor and the schools/colleges. These gifts enrich the Cal educational experience by providing financial support to areas such as: undergraduate programs, faculty support and innovative research for the improvement of our society.

The main objectives of the department are to: 1) provide best practice and efficient annual giving services to the campus units, 2) systematically qualify large numbers of major gift prospects for the campus and 3) engage fundraising volunteers with the campus through reunion, parent and student campaigns.

Six fundraising arms make up this comprehensive annual giving effort, which contacts more than 300,000 alumni, 23,000 parents, and all graduating seniors each year:
